MLS Castrol Index

Get Microsoft Silverlight

With the european soccer league action winding down we have to painfully switch our focus onto the MLS. But don't fret, because recently the league has enlisted the statistic-crunching aid of Opta. The same company that tracks and dissects the player ratings for completed passes, tackles and any of the random acts of football on the pitch. This will give an added element to distinguishing top players in the league based on consistency and efficiency, instead of being coach and commentator fan-boys. Now the big question is, will this change how players get paid in the MLS?
