The NY Times has put together a story on a break-through technology that is going to help a huge amount of kids in third-world situation. Check out the SOcket, a soccer ball that is generating energy that can charge a cell phone, juice up a battery or a light an LED lamp instead of the kerosene lamp that has caused harm to many kids just trying to get some light. This one goes out to the 4 intelligent Ivy League ladies that have made this project a reality.
