The Gunners With a Last Minute Bullet

Ball Harambee By Bagga Wilks

The Gunners started the season like wimps and they are ending the season like gang busters. Newcastle came to the Emirate Stadium and opened the scoring. Arsenal, not giving up any territory, tied the score immediately with a Van Persie goal from a Theo Walcott cross.

Arsenal dominated the game but until extra-time, the Newcastle defenders fought gallantly. Walcott picked up a ball from Alex Song and went into his overdrive sprint. The Newcastle defense had a hard time containing him for ninety minutes. Walcott’s cross in the wee hours of the match fell to Vermaelen and Arsenal had eclipsed the men in black.

Arsenal Rises From the Ashes

Ball Harambee By Bagga Wilks

Wenger’s Arsenal refused to adhere to the script. Tottenham Spurs descended on the Emirate Stadium in third place and with the expectation that they would clobber Arsenal similar to the whipping that Arsenal had received from A.C. Milan.

In the first minutes of the encounter, Tottenham scored two quick goals and it appeared that Wenger’s Arsenal was facing another rout. Arsenal’s traditional game is ball possession, excessive squaring of the ball, and not much running off the ball.

Arsenal Guns down Tottenham 3-0

The North London derby was anticipated as a match that would prove Tottenham were finally gonna come out of Arsenal shadows. In the week leading up to the game Robbie Keane stated that he felt his squad Tottenham was deeper with quality players then Arsenal. Unfortunately only thing Tottenham proved is they have to cut down on silly defensive lapses that saw Arsenal go up ahead 2-0 in the 1st half.

In the second half Van Persie seals the win with goal number 2.
